Biglerma Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Going to visit the family this weekend down in Mobile. We fish a several hundred acre golf course pond down there with A-rigs (Steelwood Country Club, you can look it up online). They have little 12 foot aluminum boats they let you take out with trolling motors. The lake is only about 15 feet deep but it is nothing but cypress stumps cut off. Last time we caught a 10.5, two 8.5's, two 7's, and 6 fish between 6-7lbs in one day. Can't keep anything over 18 inches, so it is managed for trophy fish. Last week a guy caught a 14 out of there on the Rig so hopefully they are still biting when I get there. I'll post pics! I gotta take a break from this cold nasty weather!
Members Golf Pro Posted February 24, 2014 Members Posted February 24, 2014 Can I go too. I would be glad to play the part of long lost cousin!?!?!?

Drop in and have Breakfast or Lunch with our Son, he's the mgr. of the Cracker Barrel on So. Schindler. He says it's been pretty rough on them down there this year. Have a fun and safe trip.

kjackson Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You should have a great trip...I was there during that first nastiness of snow and cold that closed the area down. Even though it was snowing/sleeting/wintry-mixing, the fish were pretty active. My largest and PB was a 10-13--the one in my avatar. It wasn't hot fishing, but all the fish were big.
Pepe Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Wow. Sounds like fun. I hope you get great weather and some toads.
Bill Babler Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Take your mom and let her hang into one of those bad boys. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Champ188 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Sounds like a hoot and just what the doctor ordered after all of this sucky weather. Have a large time.
