Members Mobud Posted February 25, 2014 Members Posted February 25, 2014 I have a fairly small Jon boat and like to fish some of the coves without hitting main lake. I see three hills (believe that's the name) and greaser creek have ramps. Can a person launch on these ramps? Thanks for your help.
Members Butthead Posted February 25, 2014 Members Posted February 25, 2014 Sure can. There aren't many but most, if not all, are operated by the MO. Conservation Department and can be found on their website. There are also places to launch small boats on the Little Sac and Sons Creek. I've got a little two-man boat and have used these sites before. You are correct in not launching a little Jon boat on the big lake - a few years back a father and son went out in a little jon boat on the big lake and became a very sad story. Even back in the coves - wear a life jacket while tooling around.
Dutch Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Stockton is a Corps of Engineers Lake so there are no private ramps. Anyone can launch at any of them. There are several ramps back in large coves. For example: Miller Branch, Hawker, there is one about a mile west of Cedar Ridge campers ramp, the one at Masters is way back in that cove.
