Members wallichaser
I'm new to the area and have made one trip to the Upper White putting in at Holiday Island. Anyone out there with local knowledge on the illusive "Walleye". Do they run up river in the spring for the annual spaun and do they remain in the river like some do back in the home waters of Minnesota? I do realize that I am in Bass, Trout and Crappie country but as they say back home....there's only one thing better than catchin em..that's eatin em. Thanks for your input and Merry Christmas to all.
Quillback
I have heard they run up there also, I'd like to try it myself.
ollie
I'm sure that's a go also. There are signs put up by Game & Commision that tell about length and creel limit over by Parker Bend and I have heard of others catching them that far upstream. If ypu go the Search function for this forum and search on "walleye" in the Table Rock ARCHIVE section I think you will find a fair amount of walleye nformation. Make sure you are searching the archive, not the current thread. There is also some information in the Kings River forum There's quite a bit of general and specific info there that I and other people put up last winter. No reason to retype it all as long as you can find it. After readng through the old threads fire away with any questions you still have! Best local "run" is up the Kings but there are some other options. Guest flyfishBDS
Just to be helpful The Upper White is traditionally that referred to ABOVE Beaver Lake. Yeh there is walleye in beaver too, more recent stockings, Ive caught small ones upstream in the Upper White around Twin Bridges. Hooked a customer into a 10-15# walleye in the spring on a fly rod on Beaver hook pulled after 10 minutes. big fish Cheers Steve
