Buzz
I have been playing around on Ebay a bit lately looking and bidding on a few baitcasting reels and came across some really nice looking reels made in and shipped from china. They look a lot like the Pinnacle reels that I own, which are also made in China. My question is: Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge about these reels? Aside from waiting about 30 days to receive it and the obvious return issues, what would be the pros and cons with something like this? http://www.ebay.com/sch/108153/i.html?item=360801991245&_ssn=tomtop.wholesaler&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l4065 If fishing was easy it would be called catching. Wayne SW/MO
I bought some Pointers and Sammies from Japan without any problems. There were a lot more color options available Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Old plug
I bought a spro on there for about 10 buck less than the market. they also offered some unpainted ( looked. a grayish color cheaper yet) I almost bought one of those as well in plant gray looking ones. Plain gray would work just fine I am sure.
J-Doc
It's a gamble in my opinion. They do look really nice but one has to wonder. Typically, the quality is not that good on products fir such a low price. As the old saying goes, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is". However..... If it's complete junk, you're only out $30. If you get one and they turn out to be good for the money, let us know. Old plug
That is a tackel outlet on ebay. I payed I think it was $21 for it. I can assure you it works fine I have practiced with it this last month or so. I see no difference from anything seen in BPS. I do wonder about the unpainted. but they were about $17 those. the color was natural kind of gray. i am sure it would have caught fish as well as i found out real fast you can do a lot with the retrieve. I can. make this one i have preform like a fluke. I will use it more as the water warms and we go into post spawn. Really I bought it to use over deep spot when I try to catch them rising to feed. It is a slow sinker and just right up that alley.

Members bigjigjim
I say buy in bulk, remove the current manufactures badging, replace with your own and begin wholesaling to sporting stores and tackle shops!♤ "Big Fish get caught by opening their mouth." - Max Pruitt
hoglaw
Anything is worth a try for $30, especially if you're going to buy a lot more of them. The Chinese don't have the same regard for patent and intellectual property law that we do. I have friends who work for a very large retailer who shall remain unnamed who go to China occasionally with blank check authority that's nine digits long before the decimal point, the purpose of their trip being to basically start a new factory to produce cheap products, like a 1$ toothbrush or travel cosmetic bottles. They say this kind of stuff China is well suited for, but they're reluctant to shop more expensive products there. Reason being, the folks that run the factories will get their buddy to start making the same product - lock stock and barrel. So my first thought is that the reels may be identical to what you're used to buying that's manufactured over there - same quality and all. Or, they could be a cheap knock off that won't perform worth a darn. But I'd think you would be able to tell pretty easily with just a little use. For $30, give it a shot and see what you get. You might find the motherload.
Old plug
The spro I bought preforms better than expected. You can do more with it than just retrieve. I can make it work like a fluke. I look forward to using it on those rising deep bass this summer after the spawn.
Fish24/7
I've been fleabaying for 17yrs. The seller has 99.1% feedback percentage which is really good. Over 500 of those reels sold and counting. I didn't see any negative feedback left recently about the reel either.
