oneshot Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Ok the way I understand it if person fishes the river right there where spring comes into the river a person doesn't need Daily Tags just go by river regs? What I'm wanting to do is go there with couple Rods fish for Suckers and Goggle Eye. Can I do this? oneshot
moguy1973 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I believe that is correct. You only need a trout stamp (the $7/yr one) if you want to possess trout. I'm assuming that means if you catch a trout in the river outside the park you must immediately release it, unless you have the stamp. That portion of the Niangua is a White ribbon area and this is what the MDC website says: White Ribbon Trout Areas Less crowded than trout parks and winter trout areas Stocked less intensively than trout parks Fishing is permitted year-round. The daily limit is four trout with no length limit on rainbows. Brown trout must be 15 inches or greater. Further seasonal restrictions may apply. See Fishing Regulations page under Related Information below. A Missouri fishing permit is required, and a trout permit also is required if trout are harvested. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
oneshot Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 Years ago you couldn't do this still makes me nervous parking on Park Property, fishing White Ribbon. I was double checking. I have my Trout Permit so no problem there even though I'm not wanting to fish for them. oneshot
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 There's signs marking the boundary. It isn't exactly where the spring enters though. There's a little cushion , 25-50' if i remember right. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
