oneshot Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Was down the Niangua not having much luck. Couple Guys came up there, spoke, I asked how they was doing? Oh only caught one Rainbow. Then one says you oneshot? Yelp. Seems it was ruthead and his Son. We had good visit. I managed two Rainbows and went home. oneshot
dennis boatman Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I was there Friday and caught 4 rainbows and 2 browns... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
oneshot Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Yes they was at the riffle, figured should have caught something there. I could see fish getting them to bite was another thing but Cold Front came through might have gave them Lock Jaw. Actually I was going to bring worms and see if I could catch some Suckers but decided not to fool with it. I'm thinking of concentrating on Catfish later on down when it warms more if it ever does LOL oneshot
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Were you at the ramp or the slough? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
dennis boatman Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 That has really changed since last summers high water... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
ruthead Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Nice to meet you in person oneshot. When I saw you sittin there on the bank I thought that jacket looked familiar from a pic on here somewhere. Figured nothing to loose so i asked. Glad we could bring you some luck as you pulled one in while we were standing there. That was about hour 4 of ever fishing the Niangua. It was a dual purpose trip as son is graduating high school and I got some neat pics of him fishin. My son caught 2 6" Browns down river Friday night and broke off 3 others. Just the 1 bow Saturday afternoon. Had no idea where to go but at least we didn't get skunked. We got a lot to try an figure out fishin that area. Lost 3 pine squirrel sculpin. Guess I better tie up more for next trip. That and bead headed woolies was really all we threw. Didn't really know what else to try. Greasy B Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Here's one pic I got. IMG_7574.JPG Nice loop. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
ruthead Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks. He's been fly fishin all his life. He used to be really tiny for his age and it's been really fun all the compliments he gets on his casting from the old timers at BSSP. I also have a 14 yr old son that is probably a better caster than this one was at 14. (Proud Dad!) They're both better than me and that's just great! I'll post a pic that's even better tonight. Casters will really appreciate it. At least I did. "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
