Lifes2Short Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Finally a great day on the water!!! Put in at Roark Bluff about 9 and ran up the lake. Fished both secondary points and channel swing banks on the north side of the lake. Caught 35+ bass, most of those bass came on 2 short stretch's of bank. All were caught on Brush Hogs or jigs in 4 to 10 fow......chunk rock was the key! Bluebird skies, 15mph winds out of the NE, water temps 46 warming to 50. Tried spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jerkbaits with no luck. All the bass were healthy and fat, best 5 went 13+. Nice to have a sore thumb again!! Tight Lines!!
smbasser Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Nice report. I put at Roark Bluff today as well about 8:30 (i think) stayed around the twin bridges area. We fished 45 degree banks with a jerkbait and caught multiple keepers. Water temps seemed same as the above report. We switched to shallow gravel later in the day (around 1) and started to find better fish. they were holding in 4-6 feet of water. All the better fish we caught came off of a crankbait. Wiggle wart and dt-6 in crawdad colors. Big fish weighed 6.15. Best 5 on the scale showed 19.7
