Just bought a 2006 Skeeter ZX225. Currently have a 5" screen lowrance unit flush mounted in the front console. The only problem is the angle of the graph is too flat, which makes it difficult to see the unit unless you are right on top of it looking strait down. I have a humminbird 597 hd ci combo that I would like to mount in place of the lowrance, but don't want the same problem seeing the unit. I am thinking of using a RAM mount attached to the forward front deck on the right side opposite of the trolling motor.

Any thoughts or other suggestions would be appreciated.

I would leave the lowrance mounted in the bow panel, buy a ram mount for the hummingbird. that way you can adjust it anyway you want it.

i have a ram on my 597 that works great! can't afford two units so have it set up so can spin it to see from steering wheel or front chair. prob. not ideal butt works.

I'm putting one of the Dek-It mounts on the front of mine.

I have seen these, and watched a you tube video on how to install it. They are a great looking well built product. Seen them at Tackle Warehouse. If I had a larger screen unit to put on the front this would be the way to go. What pro's and con's do you see in this mount?

What pro's and con's do you see in this mount?

Pro's - Centered over trolling motor, Easy to see no matter which side you are fishing out of, Very solid and doesn't move in rough water, Not in your way when you're getting in or out of your boat.

Con's - Price...almost $100, so wait until Tackle Warehouse runs a 20% off sale

you should be able to find a machine shop or welding shop near you that has the ability to bend a piece of sheet aluminum and make one to fit your application. Scott welding in Sullivan mo has done this type of thing for me on my jet. ask for Lonnie 573 860-3123. Just an option

Shipper, are you referring to making a sheet of aluminum to change the existing flush mount opening to correct the viewing angle?

I have my bow graph RAM mounted forward of the "instrument" panel, up on the no-skid pad of my Ranger. Keeps it completely off the front deck. Love the RAM, I just push it down before I run, then raise it back up and adjust for the sun's position.

Not sure if that would work in you situation. Can shoot a pic if you'd like.
