snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 A few of us went to Busch for the St. Louis urban trout fishing experience at one of the catch and release lakes. I had a particularly good few hours. Everybody caught some, but I got on a spot that must have been loaded with em. Relatively nice sized fish around 14 inches. Great afternoon weather and my brother even fished in a tee shirt. If there were riffles on the water they bit, if not, no action. Just like Taney. It was nice to get out. I wish I could get down to Taney for the get together but I just can't. Oh well. Merry Christmas!!!!!! SIO3.
Thom Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Snagged: Check this out= http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?s...ic=4319&hl= I saw a picture. Not sure it was supposed to be kept until February but the rainbow was every bit of 10 #. I am from Ofallon. Just about 4 miles from Busch. Where are you from. Thom Harvengt
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Hey Thom. I saw that report. Every year I hear of a big fish caught out of Busch but never saw one or a picture to verify it. If it was caught in lake 21 or 28 it shouldn't have been kept till Feb. 1. I live in Cottleville. I got to Busch every now again when I want to fish but can't make a trip of it to Branson or Arkansas. It has it's place and I'm glad they do it. SIO3.
Thom Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Snagged: More on the 10 # rainbow. The rainbow was caught in one the lakes that is not catch and release. The fish was 28" long. I found out that the angler who caught the fish lives across back yards from my oldest son. He has several pictures of other lunkers caught at Bucsh wildlife area. He fishes with a spinning rod using jigs fished under an indicator and just jigs them to the shore. Thom Harvengt
