Hmmmm? interesting and confusing . . . I took my boat to Fellows about 10 days ago to get the annual sticker . . . that afternoon the only person person working at the marina was a woman I'd guess to be in her 40s . . . very kind and helpful regarding any questions I had . . . I specifically asked her about fishing the marina cove . . . she replied "YES, you may fish the non-marina shoreline all the way back, but you are not allowed to fish the boat slip side or the dock itself" . . . she made no mention of any handicap designation . . . she was not hesitant with her answer and seemed very knowledgeable about any question I asked . . . I fished Fellows yesterday for the first time since getting the boat permit . . . I started back into the marina cove and noticed the two buoys . . . the buoy on the right was difficult to read, but the buoy on the left clearly read "KEEP OUT" . . . obviously contradicting what she told me . . . being unsure of what is and what is not allowable, I left the cove:-(

Crackleback...welcome to fellows lake...lol. This is what the long discussion was about earlier. Only one barely readable bout and that's if you happen to be near it to read it. And the lady in the marina isn't the one considered rude either. Weird that you received this information on the marina cove...its 180° different from what has been stated by CU and by that misinformed marina staff jerkoff that F-bombed richline2258 (boat fisherman) who mistakenly wandered into that cove to fish

I stopped fishing fellows lake because of the extremely rude behavior of the marina personnel. The last I renewed my annual sticker they would not give it to me until I read the rules and regulations and they were very rude about it. I had an old sticker from the lake on the lake and informed them I had fished there over 20 years. I had a job before I retired that required me to read a huge amount of documents daily which I learned to do with a speed reading course. After I read the folder I was told I could not get a permit because I did not read it all. I told them I did and said I was going fishing anyway since they would not give me the permit. I was told they were calling security which was ran by a retired FBI agent. I told them go ahead. After my guest from out of town said he was not comfortable fishing there we left. Thank you for the city contact email I will contact them about the Marinas outrages behavior.

Its sounds to me like it's almost worth going to the marina, and trying to piss them off. It brings me great joy to watch someone get so pissed off and worked up over the smallest thing, meanwhile i am not even close to be pissed off or worked up

Is someone else running the marina since last summer? I fished that lake a couple to three times a week last summer. Never had a problem one with marina staff. They were always friendly and helpful. I have not been back since the first of the year though.

WOW cabinman! The stories keep coming!! I couldn't believe the behavior I experienced, your experience is just as crappy as I've heard yet! You would think they are protecting the most awesome fishery in this area!! In my opinion its not even close! I wish people could be a little nicer to those who patronize that marina.

Wow !! What is going on out there at Fellows anyway ?? Cabinman....please be sure and note a complaint with CU (the link is a few pages back). Guys and gals....this is getting way out of hand with this marina staff !!!!! Who on earth put them in charge of the whole lake and property up there ?!!? I would have lost it on this one.

Has anybody gotten a response back from CU?

I spent 6 years in Springfield (College plus a couple years) and have fond memories of Fellows lake, and the guy that used to be at the marina was a pretty nice dude. Sad to hear all this.

I will remain ever so silent while being supportive of the criticism of the douchebaggery that takes place at the before mentioned establishment! Can I say douchebaggery here? I've have done my fair share of casting (no pun intended) light on these folks in a previous thread.

:huh1:
