Educate a guy on the differences in the pictures of these two groups of morrells if you will. The top picture depicts alot lighter mushroom than the bottom shown by zarraspook. Any difference in quality or taste? Thanks.

Top are fresher. Just up after a rain. Bottom ones have been up for a few more days and starting to get on the dryer side.

Spent an hour in the woods after work today and found 77. We still need more rain to really make it happen.

The smaller - darker grey color don't get much bigger than 3 inches ... I think they have a little bit better flavor...

The bigger - lighter color are yellow in color and the biggest, I have seen is about 6.5 inches... They are the most popular and easy'er to find because of their size and color...

But, both are called Morels or sponge mushrooms...
