I got the kayak out and went down the James this week, picked a great day to be on the river, it may be time to take the wader off. Caught a mess of goggle eyes, in about knee deep water, but all the bass were in the deep holes. I saw no beds anywhere. Had my best luck with a orange deep diving crank bait. No stories to tell , but one bass had one eye and another had food in his mouth. Lost one lure, BPS trip, and saw 3 crankbaits hanging from tree, too high to retreive. Took pictures of a few of them and released them all...

back in the day, '75/'76?, I caught a 5lb lm on Thanksgiving weekend that had one eye. Jig and Eel. I guess I hopped it on the correct side of the fish!

Years ago on Table Rock I caught a 14 inch bass that was blind in both eyes, caught him on a buzzbait of all things. He looked very fit and healthy when I released him and hope that he had a long and prosperous life.
