bferg Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I promised my daughter I would get her on the white bass run this year. Hasn't happened yet- the few days we had out in late march were kinda a bust and the times we have had since then the water was a mess. thinking I can get them out saturday- but are the whites still running? Any reports from up the War Eagle or Twin area?
npierceuark Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Whites are still up both arms. If the weather is nice on Sat it will be elbow to elbow I'm sure. Alabama rigs, rooster tails, curly tail grubs, BG Baby shad, spoons. Anything white and silver will catch them. Slow retrieves bouncing the bottom have done best for me. Live bait, crawfish and minnows, have produced as well.
JohnF52 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Yesterday, I went up to just below the Richland Creek confluence with White River. Nothing caught. Used white curly tail grub, yellow curly tail grub, and White Road Runner. ??
npierceuark Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 They have been very particular with the timing of the bite. On monday I caught all my keepers within about 30 min, the other 1.5 hours out there I snagged one by accident. Not sure what triggers them but when it's on it's on, you just have to be there.
Members Luckyj Posted April 24, 2014 Members Posted April 24, 2014 Just moved back to this area after being gone for 15 years, so I am wondering are there other areas of the lake that the White Bass migrate too for spawning? Like the north end or the mid section creeks? Thanks for any help.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Prairie an Indian creeks and some try Monte Ne. Prairie has had a nice run the last couple years, actually seen them up behind the nursery. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Feathers and Fins Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Fish Beaver like you would for Saltwater fish and you will catch tons, it actually fishes like the ocean in many aspects. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members Luckyj Posted April 24, 2014 Members Posted April 24, 2014 I am hoping for sure! Fished for lots of bass on Beaver but never spent the time for Crappie, Whites and Stripers and now that I am back here I plan to chase those more than bass. So don't be surprised if I ask you a lot of questions LOL Thanks again for all the help.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Ask away and welcome back, you will find this group is more than willing to share info and that sure makes catching fish in a tough lake much more simple. You are hitting it perfect for Crappie, they really are turning on. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
