Dirtracer35 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Anybody seeing any males actively on beds yet? I know there are some at Table Rock. Just wondering if they have started yet? Last weekends tournament we had some cruisers. Just no beds yet. The 23# bag brought in last Saturday has me wondering.
9LB Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 i will tell you on Monday ! i am heading up tonight, plan to try and get them dialed in !
Dirtracer35 Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Figured A Rig would've slowed with the jerkbait bite. All the fish we caught were plum full and puking up craws.
Dutch Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I'm only catching males shallow. The females are still out in deeper water. Jigs and plastic are what have been working for me.
Bitethis Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 i fished the 26th, finesse baits coming off rock ledges into 8 fow...picked up about 20 bass ranging from 14"-16". All on about 1/2 mile stretch. No big females. Now, last weekend to the middle of last week I was catching 5-6lb LM bass using a-rig in 18-20 FOW up agains steep drop offs of chunk rock.
9LB Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I did not see any beds but the water was a little rough. I did however see what appeared to be a lot of beds off one point, they seemed to be very close together for LM beds ? I am not sure if m aybe smallies build their beds close to each other. I had never seen anything like it. Sort oflooked like a bunch of potholes.
Members Derek dangly down Posted April 28, 2014 Members Posted April 28, 2014 Growing up in Michigan-those pothole beds close together were made by Bluegill/Sunfish (otherwise known as Perch around here). Don't know their timetable but could be a good time to catch some panfish.
