BadKarma Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I've been heavily getting into shooting my Airguns the last couple years. And with the run on rimfire ammo now I'm so glad I have been. Last year I took a few treerats with them and am now "culling" MDC recommended invasive species also and am having a blast. Anyone else walking this path also? Bird Watcher Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I like to take shots at wasps off the deck with my 25 year old Daisy while I'm waiting for the grill to warm up. Justin Spencer 1
Old plug Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I got one and at shorter ranges it hits like a 22 rifle. Of course it will not work against some things like a Armadillo. On those i use 410 slugs. I think the new air guns could very well replace many uses of the 22 rifle. mine has a 1100 lb muzzle velocity. I have seen them advertised that have a 1300lb velocity somewhere. I think it was down at Academy in Springfield. Thats up there with medium ga shotgun loads.
BadKarma Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 I now have 5 in my arsenal!!! Old beeman R2 .22 that I rebuilt, a Benjamin Titan .22, a Benjamin Discovery PCP in .177, a Chinese QB 46U underlever in .177 that I just love and a Crosman 2240 pistol in .22. These things reproduce with no warning at all! The 46U is awesome on starlings and grackles. Anchors them with authority out to 30 yards. the Disco and the Titan get the treerat duty when in season. Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.
ollie Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I remember use to when I worked at Daisy anything that shot over 1000fps was considered a firearm and NOT a BB gun. If we had anything that shot over that we couldn't sell it. That being said I have like 6 or 7 of them, but haven't shot any of them in awhile. Of course I just bought a Hi Point 9mm Carbine that I have been shooting and it's a blast! That is when I can find ammo. stinger160 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Had a problem with squirrels chewing up my gazebo. Got my kids old daisy powerline 880 out, put a scope on it and now working on a population reduction project. Puts them down pretty good when I can hit em. Out beyond about 12 - 15 yards though I'm not the best shot. And the little buggers are getting smart, when I see them in the yard and try to sneak out, the noise of the door handle sends em packing. Sure is fun though.
