TODAY I GOT A NEW MEGABASS 110, NOT THE COLOR I SENT IN BUT I ACTULLY LOVE THE COLOR THEY SENT!

Just a little info on these guys....I am a fan of their jerkbaits and own 6. At $25 each that is $150 investment and I am no wealthy man but I do believe nothing compares to them. However I took one out of the box at the Big Bass Bash at LOZ and out of the box the bill was cracked off the lure. I bought it months before in Tulsa, no receipt or I would of just retruned it.

Instead I called them and was told it must have been wear and tear. I explained - I took it out of the box, It had never been cast ??? After a frustrating conversation I was told i could mail it to them and they would look into it. I spent $11 Fed Exing it to them. Their reply.....We appreciate your feedback and here at Megabass we appreciate your business. That was it. $36 into one lure. They did not even mail me back the broken one ? I also thought they had a Satisfaction Guarantee but I guess

that does not apply to broken baits.

Not really here to bash Megabass but I will be moving to Spo for my Jerkbaits, (as soon as I lose all my megabass 110's)

If you can get it back, Sportmans Outlet in Springfield has a guy that will replace the bill for around $ 10.00

How long ago did you receive the acknowledgement letter? Sometimes these manufacturers are just really slow, due to people passing the buck and then not knowing what to do because it's outside normal procedure. I'd bet you'll receive a new one, maybe two, in time. They can obviously see it's never been used.

I have several friends that fish MegaBass Jerk Baits. Very fine Jerk Baits. I like them myself. I don't own any of them though....because I believe there are some other really fine Jerk Baits out there for a lot less money. I have been told that MegaBass ALL SUSPEND PERFECTLY !!! I have also been told that they all do not. I have been noticing a trend lately in fishing tackle that suggests that you have to have very expensive stuff to be a good fisherman. I personally believe you just need very GOOD stuff. I will spend the difference in money on boat gas etc. and try to launch close to where I will fish on top of it all.

Hope you get the lure replaced or fixed. If not it would be quite a hole in your wallet for just one bait. Maybe get some Rogues when the MegaBass are all gone. Might need to replace some hooks or add split rings to get them to give exactly the action you want. Even after that you would still be money ahead. Rick Clunn aren't too shabby either.

First off I would like to know the definition of suspending perfectly. Sometime you want them to rise slowly other times to sink. This is adjusted by those tiny stick on lead strips. Most people I have fished with go for the slow rise. I still think $25 for a jerk bait is ridiculous. that type lure has a awful lot more to do with the anglers ability than the lure.

Megabass cast much better and can be thrown farther than a rogue. No stickbait universally suspends. In colder water it takes more weight to get them to suspend. As the water warms it takes less. The bills on megabass are pretty weak. I sent my broken ones off and had the bills replaced. Going to send some more off. The baits are expensive and even moreso when you send them for a custom paint job. I have lots of discontinued rogues I'd be happy to sell if someone wants them.

I'm sure you are right about the casting distance of the MegaBass. As far as the water temp goes I personally feel we are splitting hairs in this area. It is possible to have a perfectly suspending Jerk Bait but everything has to be right. I have had very good luck using added split rings and changing out hooks. I feel this is also a marketing technique as PERFECT doesn't seem to happen on the lake too often.

MegaBass isn't the only ones with lip problems. My son broke a couple off just about two weeks ago on some INEXPENSIVE baits.

If you would like to P.M. me with some pictures and prices of your Rogues I will take a look.

As much as I hate to admit it......This past weekend I out fished my partner probably 3 to 1 when we were fishing walleyes. I was casting the megabass clown color (not the 110) He threw every other jerkbait that we had and it did not come close. The next best was the Spro and I actually ended up swithing to the McStick. I have heard great thing on the the Rick Clunn's. Time to put them away anyways.
