Thanks! I love top water fishing! Buzz bait maybe? I just picked up several new ones over the winter. That should raise her pulse some if we can find something they like on top. I like the Chompers too. Not a huge jig guy, but several in my boat. I'll give them a bath and see what happens. :) The lake sure looks great from the pictures I've seen. Looking forward to it!

Lots of grubs too. I'll have one rigged up for her. Definitely spinning gear. She'd probably kill me the first bird's nest she got on a bait caster!

A spook, red fin, and chug bug are good top water options. I have not had much success on a buzzbait except up the river arms.

Thanks guys. I'm used to the Ohio river and the lakes here in the area. Seriously high pleasure boat traffic here too. I fish early in the morning and then go golfing in the afternoon. Back out in the evening. I'm sure there will be some coves back up the creek where some quiet can be found in the morning at least. I fish Lake Champlain every July and you just need to be off the water by 10:30 or 11:00. I'm hungry by then anyway. Explain if you will this wonderful Ned Rig. Never heard of that one. For Champlain I like a Pond Magic spinner bait in craw with a YUM boogie tail trailer or a watermelon super fluke rigged almost Carolina style on a lead headed jig. Just let it go to the bottom and pop it along. And frogs. Lots of lily pads and grass there. Any similar stuff back in the coves here or just all vertical timber and stumps? Would a watermelon senko hit the spot? Figure the daughter could use one of those rigged texas style and not be snagging it on everything. Going to have to keep it simple for her.

Lots of info here on the Ned Rig, or Midwest Finesse Rig, or "little rig". Super small, super slow, super easy.

These videos help. Might even see my dirty barge in them. A search here for the above names will light you up.

Part of the problem with boat traffic on TR is due to the fact we spend so much time fishing well off the bank...main lake gravel, long run out points. You are really out there with them.

Spinnerbaits require lots of wind here, and even then can be spotty.

Boat traffic is annoying and makes me crazy some days, but early in the summer, you can fish steep chunk rock banks that have constant boat surf crashing into them and find a good bite.

Yep, as long as you can stand up in it. Had a day recently where passing ski boats triggered bites from fish on gravel/mixed rock places. Of course that was up in a creek...
