BATCAB27 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Anybody have a guess as to who the Chiefs or Rams are gna take in the 1st round? I wouldn't mind seeing the Chiefs trade back and pick up another pick since they have no second rounder, unless there's a real stud sitting there in the 1st when they pick. Don't the rams have a buttload of picks? 12 or something like that?
Quillback Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Rams have 2 picks in the 1st round, including #2 overall. Most projections have them picking up OT Greg Robinson with that pick and a safety or cornerback with their later 1st round pick. Chiefs are projected to pick up a WR with their 1st pick. WR position is considered to be pretty deep this year, so the Chiefs made trade out of that 1st pick like you're saying and get a WR later. Just hope it's not another Baldwin-like bust.
WHARFRAT Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'm hoping the rams go with a Line of Scrimmage guy. Usually get you best bang for your buck with them. I'm not big on high profile QB's RB's DB's and receivers early in the first round. But you can count on Fisher and Sneed pulling some kind of suprise The only high profile guy thats kind of interesting is Manzeil (sp?) . He could be good for marketing and such. His size has me a little concerned, sort of the Doug Flutie size. Hope the Rams do draft a QB in the later rounds. I'm not sure they can be a top tier team with Bradford. @lozcrappie Â
ozark trout fisher Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I worry about drafting Manziel early in the first round. Everyone that talks about him mentions marketing, ticket sales, etc....That's important, but I don't actually hear a whole lot discussion about how he actually fits in as an NFL QB and whether he'd help a team win. My guess is that he's a massive injury risk, unless he can tone down his style of play quite a bit. If it were me, I'd say he's worth a gamble late in the first/early in the second. He'll go in the top 10 though, and I fear that's a decision some team desperate to enliven a fanbase is going to regret for an awful long time. Should he go #1 or #2 (especially if a team trades up to get him) some GM is putting his job in very grave danger.
Lancer09 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I'd put money on Manziel being a stud. Chiefs wise, I'd like to see them move out of the first, grab a second and a fourth, or an early third and something. The drop off between receivers when your looking 5 deep from the 6,7,8 guys won't be that Big. Moncrief could be a sleeper, and Jordan Mathews out of Vanderbilt will be a stud I think. Then you have Abbredairis (spelling) Who could also make an impact. Personally I'd still like them to make Lee out of USC happen.
Quillback Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 The whole Manziel thing sure has created a lot of drama for this draft. I think he's a tough competitor and will play hard, but there's that injury risk associated with his style of play.

Oh yeah, I think he's got a ton of potential if he's drafted a bit further down than the top 5. I see him being a lot like RG3......capable of carrying a mediocre team to the playoffs, when he's fully healthy, but almost never fully healthy.
stlfisher Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I want the Rams to take Clowney at 2 if the Texans don't take him, but it sounds like he will be the overall number 1 pick. If Clowney would fall to number 2 many think the Rams would trade down, which might not be a bad idea. Either way I think the draft is going to be full of surprises.
Lancer09 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Nope. Kinda surprised by the Dee Ford pick, but the kid is a baller.
