I had a great week on the ROCK last week, this week was bad for me. With cloud cover and wind I can catch a few, but yesterday was High skys, just picked up a few shorts. Any tips on fishing high skys and warm temp???

At the risk of incurring wrath, there is nothing close to the Ned Rig for high skies, with or without wind. Only things close are split shots, and tubes pulled deep, and they are not that close.

The little rig has been going since late winter, was producing good keepers for several OAF members last week, and will not slow down any time soon.

It let's you stay from the bank out to 25' most days, on just about any gravel or small mixed rock banks.

First of all, I would like to thank the members of this forum for openly sharing your tips and stories. I stumbled across this site last year and have found the guidance to be very helpful.

My dad, brother and I have been making the annual trek to the lake for either the last week of April or first week of May for over twenty years now. Unfortunately, dad passed away two months ago. However, it has been great remembering him and celebrating him by keeping our annual tradition alive this week.

We only get out one or two other times a year outside of this trip. So, we are more casual fisherman and do not catch the numbers that many on here appear to do. However, we have had a great week. We fished primarily spinner baits on windy banks and, where we could, across points and caught numbers. Yesterday we made the switch to the Ned Rig and caught numbers as well as 5 keepers. We had success in shallower, flat cuts as well as on the backs of islands closer to deeper waters.

Thanks again to all of you that share as we really appreciate what we are able to pick up from this board.

Sorry for your loss, but glad you can take comfort in good memories made together. Too many do not have that comfort. Should be a reminder to all of us to fish like the next fish might be the last fish, and to treat folks the way you would like them to remember you.

Glad you caught them, and hope it was the trip you needed.

I will back out next week, put on some splt shot and try the ned rig. I do like to toss the spinner bait in short water, but I only catch SB fish in clouds ,wind ,rain...THANKS.. PS someone inform me when the MEEKS tour will be going on next year. Aunts creek most of time not busy on WED, big surprize when I saw 90 boats on ramp... Hope everybody did better then I did...

Seems like it gets harder every year to catch them consistently on a blade. Not impossible, but not what it was when we had the big bushy cedars. Lot of that wood is just gone.

I concur with Stricker9, I recently joined the forum after moving back to KS from the CT. I'm trying my best to make the trout to Bass fishing transition (although there is obviously great trout fishing in SW MO as well). I appreciate the tips and pointers and I'm hopefully ned rig prepared for when I'll be at Table Rock next week.

"May the fish be with you!"

Let us know how it works for you. Very few have tried it and not done well, but sometimes takes some adjustments, especially upstairs.

(What I reported about works just as well with no wind!:-)
