Duke if you do go in to Fishtrap make sure all your rods are attended at all times the man in the Striped suit has been known to steel them if they are not. Notorious spot for some very big stripers.

is there a boat landing or access to fishtrap nearby?

Yes. Lost Bridge South Corps Park has access and a ramp.

Fishtrap will be about 5 minutes from where it sounds like you will be at Lost Bridge. Good area in June

I'm getting excited about the June trip. If one of the places we try is Fishtrap (it is real close to where we are staying) and we try for stripers.....how would you suggest we fish? Should we try to find some shad and fish live bait or would we do any good with artificial?

Yes and yes. Try the former first, but be prepared to do the latter.

With a lot of small fish I hear. Great for kids. Heck any day catching 20-60 bass is fun to me butnnit for some. (Tournament guys)
