Basically anything that causes a disruption in the current flow such as a point of rocks, a big tree, etc. the seam is where the eddy meets the main current. Bass like to hang there because they can stay just out of the current and dart out and grab food as it passes by.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I have always believed that smallies tend move close to broken water, but generally aren't in it. This is especially true after the water warms and the broken water gets more oxygenated. The population in this area doesn't bode well for any bank space seclusion. Take your kayak and throw your tackle box in the deep holes and the edges of the current and at any object big enough to break the flow. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
