Keeping tabs on this thread. My once a year trip there is coming up first week of June. Specifically for surfacing striper. Always have to make the campsite reservations in January so just a guess on the best week at that time. Sure hope they are around then. My last two years have been really bad. Before that I could always find a few to catch but weather last year and the year before had my clueless where to look. They were not on the normal points I fished from all the previous trips.

Hoping some locals will give me a honey hole or two come June 1st. :)

Thanks for the great advice but the wind really hurt the am top water bite and using the fly rods. Did get some great smallies later in the am on a tube had one 171/2 inches that thought it was a five pounder.

Just wanted to bring this back up again. I'm heading up there this weekend to spend the week chasing these striper around. I always have to guess the week so I'm hoping it's not too late. Feathers and fin, jdoc, or any other locals have some good info on where to look? Doesn't seem like you guys target these fish but hoping maybe you have seen or have some friends that do chase the striper and could get me on some fish. I'm staying at lost bridge south all next week. Normally I just run the points up to rocky branch and hope I can find one or two during my search. Be much more fun if you guys know of good activity somewhere on the lake. Doesn't matter where, my boat can get me where ever you guys say to go. I don't see many reporting on breaking striper or hybrids. That just not a popular sport fish with the guys here?

Thanks in advance and I'll be sure to share what luck or no luck I have for anyone else looking for them around that time.

I target them, but when crappie or walleye are biting they are my focus and stripers take a back seat until July. Doc and I actually looked for them Monday half heartedly though as crappie kept calling us back. Look from Rocky Branch to point 3 they are scattered in that entire area, I do know guys are catching big hybrids using small bluegill and stripers will take them as well.

big fish busting top in the back of Blackburns, back of Ventris, Shaddox hollow, and a lot of topwater action around cedar and fords creek. The fish are still really scattered..but they are on a feeding frenzy!

You staying at LBS campgrounds? I'll be there with some others. I'm sure I'll see you out on the water.

Yep. LBS. I'll be at campsite 21 this year. Raymond's family stole my normal spot.

Thanks for the updates, going to look at my map SK and find where you are talking about. Don't know the lake well enough to hav a clue where those spots are but if listed on the lake map I can find them. Thank you very much. Last year my little girl managed to boat a 15.5 lb striper so naturally she expects to get one bigger. Should we fail, it will be all my fault. If we succeed, well it's because she is just a better fisherman than I am and she will continue to instruct me all year long on everything I'm doing wrong.

Well, we are just down the road from you. Site 23. It will be the one with all the kids running around on bikes. lol. Good looking fish. I would naturally be expecting a bigger one also if I were here, lol. She is gonna put the pressure on you for sure...now...and every year she gets older. I got one that is almost 13 now.
