mzrealfish Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Morning all. I'm stuck here in KC and waiting to see some fishing reports fir the gasconade or big piney. Haven't made it down there yet this year. Thanks
Seth Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Our club tourneys start up this Saturday at Jerome so i will be fishing the Nade more often. I will try to post updates on how the bass fishing goes for me.
Seth Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Usually 8-12 I think. The club is called the Gascosage Bass club. Google it and you can read the rules and tourney schedule. Dues are $25 per season and $40 per boat per tourney. I started fishing it two years ago and really enjoy it.
bikehikefish Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Thanks Seth. We were thinking about floating from Jerome to Belle Chute Saturday and Sunday and were wondering about how much traffic to expect, but it turns out we are doing the Big Piney instead. Good luck on your tournament. I looked at your schedule and saw a couple of the events will be at Belle Chute. I may have seen you guys there before when I was camping/fishing at Belle Chute. Fishing the pool at that access can be pretty good for a few days after your weigh-in.
Seth Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 That's one downfall about tournaments is that it puts a lot of nice fish in a small area easily accessible to bank anglers. I imagine a lot of the fish get taken home and cleaned. If there has been a tournament during the previous two weeks at ramps within 20 miles, the "ramp campers" in our club will run to those area's and sit there all day long. It's smart and usually puts them in the money, but most of the guys don't have patience to do it.
SmallyWally Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Girlfriend and I floated Big Piney from Boiling Springs just down to Mason on 5-20. Water was really nice, but the little fishing I did was not so hot. Kindness is the language the blind can see and the deaf can hear.-- Mark Twain
bikehikefish Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I haven't floated that stretch for a few years, but it seemed like the fishing was slow above Mason Bridge, but much better below it. I am going to do Boiling Spring to Slabtown Saturday and Sunday. Probably paddle through the deader water until I hit the bridge.

Would have preferred to start at Slabtown, but, it was fun with the girlfriend anyway. Let us know how you do bikehikefish and good luck.
