nathanhooper Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Well guys, been a while since I have been on and posted. Hunting always gets me in the fall, winter finds me doing chores all the time, and early spring my house/garden get most my attention. But alas! I am in full fish mode now...well, that and the long honeydo list I have. Regardless, I have been out a few times the last few weeks. For those who don't know, I fish almost exclusively from point 1 to the back of Indian Creek. I live just up the road from Indian creek so its a quick trip to the water for me, and my current rig does not hold so much gas so I keep my fishing to this area. Ok, so yesterday evening after work hit the water. I was pulling some new crank baits I picked up, which pull deeper than the flickers I normally run, and decided I wanted to see if I could pick something up trolling back up the end of Indian creek. These baits were said to run 19+ so I was looking for 20ft on my sonar to see if I could see them ticking or not. First time I got close to 25 had a fish on, white bass, and it was all downhill from there. After I had 10 in the boat I finally got to see that they indeed do pull down to 19 feet. I left after telling a boatful of guys where the whites were and decided to try downstream for some walleye/stripers. After finding some trees...and loosing a lure... I finally got into some 25' water and hooked up with a few rocks...and then a couple of walleye. At that point the livewell was looking like a sardine can and I decided to hit the road. One of the best days on the lake. Sure wish my boys had been with me. Anyways, it was all for good because we are having a fish fry for my oldest sons birthday at the lake this weekend. Which will also be putting me further upstream from where I normally fish. I'll be at Lost Bridge South so if anyone knows of some good places for bluegill I would greatly, greatly appreciate the info. My wife loves bluegill, and it would be fun to take the boys out to catch some. Cant say I wont chase some stripers while I'm there though... Sorry for the sideways picture.

Feathers and Fins Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Nice.... Now were you anywhere near a certain spot I told you about last year? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
nathanhooper Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 Nice.... Now were you anywhere near a certain spot I told you about last year? If your referring to a particular channel between two places, then no. But the walleye I caught were just around the corner from there. The whites were in a particular place that you went and scoped out with your camera, of which you reported back on the findings beneath the dock. Which, on another note, I am excited to say I just got my camera in today and hope to find it put to good use in the near future. And if you happen to go diving around the place I lost by downrigger ball last year...I'd gladly buy back my lure I lost there the other night.
