I wasn't even on the water today but sure.........I'll be the fall guy. If that helps you feel better when loading the boat with only a few fish.

Walleye seem to be doing really well in Beaver and TR this year, been picking up one or two just about every time out while bass fishing. Mostly keepers also, usually this is not the case for me. Never been over to Bull Shoals, but word has it they are knocking them dead there. Kudos to the AGFC walleye team.

Absolutely Quill, the size and quality are very impressive big shoulders on them big guts. I have caught fish from 8'' to 27'' this year so I do not see any reason the fishery wont keep getting better and better each year. The small ones look just as healthy and fat as the larger ones.

The surface action yesterday was awesome I wish I knew earlier it was walleye and not bass, The only way to describe it was like a tuna surface attack grey hounding massive hit, not a slurp like I thought they might do but very aggressive. If that one is indicative of how they attack surface baits I will be smiling for years to come.

I too am thoroughly impressed with these walleyes. When we fileted the smaller (~15-18lb) striper this weekend, and the walleye we caught, we had just about as good looking meat from that walleye. Beautiful filets. They sure know how to pack the weight on.

One thing I have yet to do is to get into a mess of crappie. But I'm sure that just being out there near the same area you been fishing in has given me some of you mojo.

That end of the lake has always been hard for me to get in crappie. they seem to be more prolific from about Rocky Branch to Hickory Creek. I really only hit the Dam end of the lake in summer if i am looking for stripers and at that it needs to be very early or late in the day to avoid the crowds.

That's the truth right there. lol. It does get pretty busy at times, and the fishing is tuff, but I set my jaw to figure out every nook and cranny of it and I am to do so.

I have found crappie dispersed through it, but never have more than two in the boat any given trip.

I like the solitude this end gives, so I guess I'll trade the good fishing for it.

Once I get bored or decide I want to catch more fish...I might make a trip heading up the lake a bit.
