Members JF stix Posted June 3, 2014 Members Posted June 3, 2014 Heading to a Indian Point with my family. Looking to take my kids and wife out fishing. My little guy has been chomping at the bit to go fishing. I would really like to locate some walleye. I know that TR is a world class bass lake but I really like the mooneyes. Anyone have any suggestions? Also taking them to Silver Dollar City and a couple of restaurants. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good BBQ restaurant? Any other suggestions are appreciated as well. Fish markers, tactics, other excursions. Thanks!
dtrs5kprs Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Better walleye fishing is at the opposite end of the lake, way up the White. The smallmouth pretty much have you surrounded down there at Indian Point, plus good whites-if they ever get started.
Members JF stix Posted June 3, 2014 Author Members Posted June 3, 2014 Thanks! How are they fishing for them in the white? Any local restaurants you would recommend? I would actually love for my kids to hook into a 3 or 4 lb. bronze back. Love the fight!
rainbow Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Danna's is pretty good BBQ for that area. There is one off 165 near Fall Creek Road. If you really want to catch some walleye call Buster Loving and go over the Bull Shoals.
motoman Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I can only offer bbq suggestion for up thataway, and 2nd the Dannas suggestion. - If you get down by Kimberling city and cross the 13 bridge on Thursday you can get some good bbq. ;-).......But that might be a haul with little ones.
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I would 3rd Danna's. If you on Indian you would probably want to go to the one in Branson West. It's south of 76 on old 13, on the right. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

You can get it everyday, but Thursdays are burnt ends nights. The Fillin Station in Lampe. If you are more tourist-y some evening, try the Altenhof down by Indian Point. Authentic German food and pizza, and a view that is hard to describe.

Just not the best walleye lake in the chain. Bull and Beaver are better for them. RPS would be the guy here to fill in the details, but Holiday Island is a long, long way from Indian Point. If you take your little guy out around Indian and fish some gravel with split shot rigs, smoke grubs, tubes, shakey heads, Ned Rig (see, I mentioned it last), you will put him on brown fish, K's, and make some big smiles.

Members JF stix Posted June 4, 2014 Author Members Posted June 4, 2014 Thanks for all the suggestions, fishing and the restaurants! I really appreciate the hospitality! Any specific points around Indian that are better than the others?
