Members cbass12 Posted June 15, 2014 Members Posted June 15, 2014 As you can tell by my number of posts all I normally do is read, but this subject is a big reality for us who fish most every day. Not only do I see what all of you have posted, but my cove is no wake, of which is very seldom observed. when I ask them to slow down, well you would think I am asking them for all their equipment. z22 We stay at Mill Creek Resort and two years ago we had trouble in the cove with guests that were staying at the resort. There were two separate days where they rented a ski boat and a wave runner for 3 hours both days. They were running on plane in between the buoy and dock with the boat continuously, all while my family and I were floating in front of the dock. And with the waverunner......... taking off from the edge of the dock at full throttle was unfortunately not the worst thing they did. With my family all sitting on the dock, one of them decided it was a good idea to drive full speed right toward the dock, and do a 180 right off the corner of the dock, splashing everyone. Forget that it really annoyed us, this guy could have seriously injured/killed someone on the dock if something had gone wrong. OK rant over.
Members cbass12 Posted June 15, 2014 Members Posted June 15, 2014 cbass12, Bill always says what he sees and his eye is very good. None the less, plan to go out BEFORE first light and fish 5:45 until the idiots make you leave. 2 or 3 hours can make a trip and you deserve it. I believe every word, his reports are great and I love reading them. We dont usually fish much past 8 anyway so shouldn't be a problem. I actually did fairly well fishing a football jig and shakyhead off the dock last time we were there. I'm sure I'll drag the rig around the dock a few times.
dtrs5kprs Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 There are more recreational boaters/jet skis etc around Kimberling than I have seen at this time for several years. Not sure why. Even quite a few here at Schooner. We have actually fished later in the day than ever before for June, but that is mostly because the kids have been cheated a bit by the weather. Traffic way back in the creeks has been manageable, but the main lake is bouncy. Of course that is in a barge, smaller boats would have a rougher go, literally.
Members AAD Posted June 16, 2014 Members Posted June 16, 2014 Our week on TRL is starting this Saturday. Normally we are on the water by 0500. We may have to adjust that a bit earlier if the end of our normal fishing time may be affected. Last year down by Cow Creek we had a ski boat buzz past us twice. It was early in the day, near 6 am and not another boat in site, yet he feels the need to act like that. Too bad people often have more money then sense. Sounds like a good year to fish a little rig back in some creeks. I wonder what we could use......
