nathanhooper Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Anyone heard anything about striper activity dam end of the lake? (Pun intended) Thinking about taking wife and boys out. Curious as to what kind of activity there is and how deep they may be running. Need to know if I should throw the downriggers on.
J-Doc Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Live shad is what I heard. Don't know about the locations though. May have to move around to find them. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
kjackson Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I saw one blow up on a shad (I'm guessing) just off the mouth of one of the coves in Indian Creek. It looked like it was in the teens, but it wasn't interested in what I had. That was the only thing I saw inside. A guide boat was working the main channel off the first island, but he didn't stay there long. Saw a couple of boats I would say were after stripers head into Indian Creek when I was fishing up the lake a bit on Wednesday but I didn't see them inside. Didn't get out today as planned, so I have nothing more recent than midweek.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 They are in the lake swimming in their superman costumes looking at the bottom of boats yelling torpedo that sucker and then ok I better stop the Bookers is kicking in! pt 6 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

nathanhooper Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Well shoot. Here I was thinking that they were wearing batman suits hiding in the darkness. Didn't get out this evening. Decided to work on the boat instead. I'm trying for tomorrow even if it's just for a few hours. Maybe they will stop all this super hero nonsense and just swim up to my boat in defeat.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Strawberry moon last night, your best bet would be this evening for them, start out around 4pm at Lost Bridge South and work toward point 3 humps. They are always tough on a full moon phase. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
nathanhooper Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 Got out last night. Spent more time driving than fishing. Didn't find much driving, so started fishing. Pulled in a couple walleye before the company needed to get back home. I did notice that the temps on my sonar are 10 degrees cooler than a week ago. Wonder how that effects them. Also, happy to say that I now don't waste but a few scales on the fish I catch now. I raise a few pigs for some good eating each year and decided to see how they liked fish. Filleted the fish as normal, took the carcass to the pigs, this morning I strained my eyes to find a few scales on the ground. Gonna be some good eating this fall
Feathers and Fins Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 We noticed the same thing, I was shocked to see the temp difference from last week. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
