As I understand it, Zman has a mechanical patent on a jig with the blade attached directly to the eye. This may, or may not, make a difference. I haven't fished one with the split ring. I'll have to try that. Thanks.

you actually get more vibration with a split ring because of the blade being further out. it creates i wider wobble.

Bending the front lip down a hair gives you more vibration as well like in the pic bluebasser86 posted.

Here is the parts needed to make your own. You can save better than half the price buying the parts and putting them together yourself versus buying new from a store.

i have found that if that bend is away from the hook instead of towards the hook, it will help keep the bait down better without breaking out on a faster retrieve.

I need to try that. Sometimes when throwing them in current, I have a hard time keeping them down. Bumping up to a -/2oz model was my plan.

the NuTech CrazyJigs come in 1/2 as well, and the Blitz CrazyJig is availble in a 1/2 and a 3/4.
