mic Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 So my family and I are going to Greers Ferry this weekend. Two quick questions. 1. We will have access to pontoon and will be on the Devils Fork end? Any suggestions for fishing or trolling? 2. Any creek wade fishing on that end of the lake. Thanks, MIC
marcusearlt Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Access to either the Middle Fork or Devil's Fork is going to be extremely limited, except where some bridges cross the river like in Shirley. If you are in the area in the spring then it's worth your while to chase some whites and hybrids, and and thats really only if you are going on a pure fishing trip. It's really spread out and undeveioped down there so doing any kind of shuttle would be outrageously complicated. If you got the family with you I'd do some trolling around the island just above the narrows called Poker Hill, especially the north and west sides, and through the narrows. Have a top water rigged up just in case though because you never know when those hybrids will start busting. Members cmcclu Posted June 25, 2014 Members Posted June 25, 2014 An option with a pontoon boat that I have fond memories off is fishing at dusk and into the night around the area bridges. We use to catch crappie, white bass, and walleye fishing directly below floating lights with minnows. As a kid we would always look forward to those night fishing trips on the pontoon. Wading the upper tributaries of the lake would be tough. Your not to far away from the Mt. View area where you have trout fishing on the lower White River and Sylamore Creek area for smallmouth bass.
mic Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks everyone... Is there any suggestions for creek wading in the area?
