Dylan Cluver Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Do many folks throw streamers out of boats when the water is running? Seems fairly popular on the white, and seems to produce. I know jigging is very popular and very productive. Just wondering about the streamers? No one gripes about obese fish.
Lancer09 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I have when I had access to a boat. It's a lot of fun and I moved some good fish. I never landed anything but I only gave it a shot when they had the flood gates were open and a buddy's dad who was in town sprung for a boat so they could try trout fishing.
Members ARHeadhunters Posted June 28, 2014 Members Posted June 28, 2014 I've fished big stuff up there several times and done fairly well. I catch way more streamer rainbows up there than anywhere else. I would still prefer to streamer fish the White but Taney deserves a look with streamers. Dylan Cluver Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Could the different strains of brown be the cause? No one gripes about obese fish.
Lancer09 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I just think a lot of it has to do with the scud population. Even the browns are able to eat a LOT of those scuds without having to go as predatory as they might on the white. Also, the white has more room for them to grow, on top of that there is some natural reproduction there + protected spawning grounds so I think that the number of Browns is greater in relationship to the other trout. I know there are a LOT of big browns in taney, Someone would just need to put in the time and effort to find them.
Terrierman Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 By streamer do you mean a 6" gold CD Rapala? Fished about 6' to 10' deep when the water is running? Around/above Point Lookout?

It's the same thing, you just throw it differently. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
