Members ADD-Fishing Posted June 29, 2014 Members Posted June 29, 2014 Fished near the Rocky Branch area after the 'little afternoon disturbance' that sent 'the hatch' scurrying like mayflies in a windstorm. Hung out under an awesome dock until it passed. After it had cleared we had about an 1.5 hrs left to fish. Caught 5 whites, a 1 lb striper, and finally we caught what we were fishing for, 2 17" eyes and our to date personal best, a 24" eye. Actually my 14 yr old, Jack, caught it. All came on a worm harness. We both missed a few and I have no doubt that we could have gotten a few more with a little more time. Now that takes discipline, smarts, or maybe just fear to leave biting walleyes... but sometimes it pays off more for the long run to occasionally appease the wishes of significant others by not dragging your 14 yr old home at midnight... Anyway, here a few pics. I of course posed with 'the dude' also (same fish), and i'm posting both pictures only because it better shows the true size as we saw it in person. Look at the shoulders on that dude. You gotta be impressed with the beef on these beaver lake eyes. Finally, a special shoutout to F&F for all his tutelage on OA. The man is selfless contrary to the sometimes harsh portrayals of J-Doc ))))))))

fisherofmen11 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Great job! I have been meaning to try a crawler harness.
J-Doc Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Harsh portrayals??? A little treasing is okay amount friends. :-). If you think I tease him.......geez you should see him tease me when we are fishing. I have definately learned a lot from him in the past year. He knows I appreciate it too. I'm leaving the fish counting clicker at home from now on. :-p Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
