Members Realtree8705 Posted July 3, 2014 Members Posted July 3, 2014 Ok I'm not asking for anyone's honey hole but I've never fished stockton and want to take a buddy who just came back from overseas. I don't have a boat. So strictly bank or dock fishing. Where are some good spots?
5bites Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Lots of people fish right off the north end of ruark bluff. If you didn't mind driving around if also hit every boat ramp I could.
blue79 Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 1..This spot has some chunk rock and you could have a fire right bye the water.I have caught walleye and crappie trolling these banks.I have caught some nice cats in this area on my jugs with shrimp. You could probably camp here. 2..This spot has a dock with picnic tables and a brush pile in front of it.Its kind of hard to get this spot unless you get there early.Campground not to far away. 3..There are 3 spots on the dam you can fish straight down but you will have to have a basket to get the fish up. 4..There are spots on each side of the river to fish below the dam These were the spots i went to when we first moved to stockton and didnt have a boat. The first spot was our best cause there was alot of spots to fish if there was people around. We catfished at night there and had a fire. These are good spots if your on the north side of the lake close to town.
zarraspook Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 If you are closer to the south end of the lake------- These areas around the CC bridge always produce fish ... There is brush under the bridge that hold crappie and bass... The rip-rap shores give up catfish, walleye, and lots of DRUM ...... A launch ramp and parking lot is on the south-west side and there is a dirt road on the north-west side..... The rip-rap on the east side give up bass on crank baits.. If going on the week end be prepared for LOTS of company !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
straw hat Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 The water at CC right know is a real thick green color, 84 and I believe low on O2. We couldn't find much around the bridge with our fish finder. Had to go north about a mile to start picking up anything.
zarraspook Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Thanks for the update... I had not been up there since mid may...... I thought maybe the rains last week would have "fresh'n" the water..... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
