Members geomann74 Posted July 4, 2014 Members Posted July 4, 2014 I am thinking about taking a trip for the first time down to Table Rock to fish on Sunday, thinking about putting in at Aunt's Creek or at the Cape Fair public use area and getting there around 11 or so and fishing until sundown. Can anyone give me some pointers as to where to fish in that area and how to fish it? I am looking for walleye, crappie, or bass but will fish for anything biting.
rps Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 For me, the fish have been 24 to 30 feet down, holding on edges. Drop offs, channels, etc. The bait fish seem stacked at 15 to 20 feet deep. Three options come to mind for a first time Table Rock visit: 1. Drop shot crawlers along channel edges where flats are 20 feet deep and fall into deep water. 2. Slow drag a carolina rigged crawler or plastic along those same locations. 3. Size 9 flicker shads in light color, trolled on 150+ feet of 10# line just out in the channel from those same locations.
Bill Babler Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Good advice from RPS but DUDE!! Fishing thru the middle of the day on a Holiday weekend in the area you are talking about is not quite insane, but getting pretty close to the Edge. Aunts Creek is the largest Resort recreation area on all of Table Rock lake and the pleasure boat traffic is by far the heaviest on the lake. From Cape Fair to Aunts Creek is simply jammed at that time. Good Luck and Wishing you the very best http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Feathers and Fins Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 BRAVE MAN to go out that time of day on a holiday weekend... I would suggest if possible getting out more like 4am and fish till 11am you should be a little safer https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

However, I remember when I fished when I could rather than when it made sense. Be careful and enjoy.
Members geomann74 Posted July 5, 2014 Author Members Posted July 5, 2014 I appreciate the replies, I am not real familiar with the lake, I was hoping up closer to the Cape Fair area the boat traffic would be down and be able to fish some. I have some things going on in the morning so that is why I would be getting a later start. I generally fish Pomme De Terre and may go up there considering how busy Table Rock gets and may hold off on a trip to table rock.
