I would about bet my bottom dollar it was gar. those Gar hit like a truck. I fish for them sometimes in the summer just to experience that tremendous hit a d fist couple of runs. If its gar try trolling a rope lure back there with enough weight to get it down and a steel leader. they can be a thrill. aa

Agree on the gar; I occasionally hook one and if they get their head turned and the line around their beak it will usually get cut. Where you find one you usually find more.
