96 CHAMP Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 my neighbor just got back from tablerock, took his 2 young kids and wife. they are not serious fisherman just on vacation, met his father in law down there, they have a place next to big cedar, his father in law loves to set trotlines, they found some huge bluegill spawning in shallow water as they were trying to get out of the sun and used some cut bait on there trotlines. caught several flathead the biggest was about 7pounds,1- 8# large mouth and several 3&4# large mouth and some smaller on cut bait in 15-20 feet of water about 50 yards from the bank between 1 and 3 pm in the afternoon, go figure!! just thought i would pass this on, wish i could go but installing hardwood floors, GOOD FISHIN
Champ188 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Hope those big LM got a pardon and were released alive. Be a shame for an 8-pound LM to eat his last meal attached to a trotline.
96 CHAMP Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 ya, lee told me they released em, wish i was down there getting in on some of them gillberts, that is some good eatin, been meaning to work it out some time to come down when they are spawning, maybe next year, to busy now, GOOD FISHIN TO YA CHAMP!!!
