Feathers and Fins Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 It would depend more on angler confidence in his bait than the bait itself. If a person is confident in one over the other they will go with the one they are confident in. Both will catch fish and both have a place in a tackle box. Heavy cover areas the Gulp can be rigged weedless which would cut down on snags on hard bottom low structure the crawler would be the go to. At the speed walleye anglers troll they both could be likened to a Ned-rig which is a proven catcher. It really depends on the angler and conditions. There has been days I have seen a wart / x-rap / and Flicker out produce Live shad and vise versa. It takes understanding conditions and when to apply what method in order to catch the fish and to have a fly anglers mentality of change to find the bait and pay attention to the smallest details. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members vuekid Posted July 9, 2014 Author Members Posted July 9, 2014 just mainly trolling on bottom bouncer, already tried night crawler n it produce couple good size walleyes, wanted to try n see if the gulp alive crawler would work the same, since u can eliminate the panfish n won't lose as many crawlers
