I stopped launching out of PC this year for that very reason. Problem is - it seems every ramp needs corrective measures. I agree - they close the parks due to a govt shutdown (like we need personnel to help us launch our boats), yet those same employees who are supposedly furloughed because of the shutdown are there to write us a ticket if we decide to ignore the orange barrels and launch anyway. Makes perfect sense.

Brian, you have seen me ride big wakes imagine what it took to throw me off balance. I worry about you man if these fools did it to you, you would be in the water at best. And yes its out of hand,

I agree Scott. That would have been bad news from me or any other small water craft. The kayak is going to stay dry for a while. Too many incidents on the lake recently and it isn't worth the risk. I am hoping that after labor day things will quiet down and the lake will go back to being mostly inhabited by fisherman.

After Labor day My Gun and Bow gets pulled out and I forget about fishing in pursuit of Duck and Goose... Well not completely true if I limit on them fast I do go fishing.

I was just talking to a friend and he has been fishing the lake since day 1 and said this is the worse year ever for stupidity by people and he flat out blames it on Benton County going WET... Use to be you had to go to Springdale or Pineville to buy, now its easy to get and close by and no worry of check points or getting caught on the streets. I kinda have to agree with him, I have seen more drinking on the water this year than in years past as well.

I hadn't even considered the switch from dry to wet for Benton County, but this year does seem worse than any of the prior years I have fished Beaver. Let me know if you need a "boat tag spotter" to accompany you before you transition over to blasting tasty feathered creatures.

You know, many big wake boats have trailers that match the boat. This can make them easy to spot back at the ramp so you can let the air out if the correct tires. I would use the valve stem the first time and the fillet knife for each offense thereafter.

Old fashioned idiocy is still alive and well too. Pull up to Monte Ne at 6 tonight only to find a boat pulled up to the shore, ON THE RAMP. The elderly gentleman who owns it, then slowly makes his way to his truck, starts backing up and tears off his left headlight by hitting the trailer next to him. There were a couple of people with him, so I didn't feel the need to offer any help or advice on ramp etiquette. I certainly respect my elders, but that was a 1st class cluster.
