Boobie Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 They dont get any better than BILL BECK!!!!!! As a person and a fisherman.
Bird Watcher Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Bill, I'm pretty good friends with those youngsters that Beck had out yesterday. They live just around the corner from me up here in KC. The older of the two boys, around 15, is just flat ate up with fishing. He knocks on my door a couple times a week to see if I can come out and play (translate: talk fishing). My garage is basically a giant tackle store and he usually heads home with a few goodies each time he visits. I take him out to our local lakes whenever I can. I've sung the praises of Table Rock Lake to him many times, and I'm just tickled that he and his brother were lucky enough to have a great outing with. Mr. Beck. I received several frantic and excited texts yesterday regarding his fantastic morning on Table Rock Lake, and I couldn't have been more thrilled. When he told me the guides name was Bill Beck, I let him know that he fished with one of the best. These two young men really needed a beautiful day on your beautiful lake as they tragically lost their father to a sudden and unexpected illness in February of this year. In fact, they found their father at home after he had passed. They are strong young men that are holding their heads up high and demonstrating enormous courage during and incredibly difficult time. If you get the chance, please tell Mr. Beck that he put smiles on their faces that will last a long time. What a special day. I think I have something in my eye. To anyone that says fishing is "just wasting time", I'd like to submit the above as a rebuttal. Keep an eye on them Champ, and keep them fishing.
Bill Babler Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks C-198, I'll relay the 411 to the Beckester. He said the boys were a little trigger happy, but they just had a great day a jerkin them. I guess they were with Grand Pa. Willie said Gramps fished very little if at all just helping and watching the boys. Over the years Bill and I have logged thousands of hours together both on and off the pond. I consider him one of the best friends I have ever or will ever have and one of the best guides that has ever worked Table Rock Lake. Be just about impossible to fish with Bill Beck and not have a great time, fish biting or not. Thanks So Much http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Members champ198 Posted July 24, 2014 Members Posted July 24, 2014 It's such a blessing to have such a beautiful lake to get out and escape the troubles in our lives. Again, I am grateful that they had such a great guide. Can't wait for my doorbell to ring and getting to listen to all the stories about their great day on the water. Thanks.
rps Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I want to add in here. I just do not know how to say it better than those before me.
Bill Babler Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Is it to late to get those Walters back in the Pond? They are starting to look a little Bleached. Bill said they caught them on the bottom at 42 ft. between two trees. Both at once. Good Luck Yes I believe that would be an upgrade from his current boat. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
rps Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 42 feet, huh? No wonder I stunk up the place yesterday. I was fishing too shallow at 30 to 32 feet. Of course the channel isn't even 42 feet until nearly Eagle Rock, 6 river miles from me.
