rps Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I was able to get out around 9:00 this morning. I did not expect much because today was a post front day with an East wind. The surface at Holiday Island was 78-79. I fished above Beaver town where the water had dropped to 77. I caught three on a night crawler on a harness in water 14 to 19 feet deep. Two keepers, 19 and 21 inches. By 1:00 PM the ski boats were clear above Beaver so I came in.
kjackson Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Very good! Gotta wonder if the farther upriver you go, the shallower you'll find fish (up to a point). Crossed the 62 bridge last night, and the river was a ribbon of mist. That cold-water release may draw some fish.
rps Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 At the place I caught fish, the channel is 24 to 25 feet deep. I was fishing an island on the channel edge with submerged timber. I expected them to be deeper, but I caught one on my first shallow pass.

rps Posted August 2, 2014 Author Posted August 2, 2014 Yes, you are right. However, even if 2 or 6 track me, that community hole will still produce.
Feathers and Fins Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I can guess which one it is then and would agree it will produce. I would love to get over there but im staying off the leg for a while unless I have to be on it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
