Members wgdade Posted August 2, 2014 Members Posted August 2, 2014 Just joined the forum. I recently moved here from Texas and I love to fish. I am really enjoying the clear streams here in SEMO and have found a new favorite fish to catch, the smallmouth. I'll be heading out to the Castor tomorrow for a little smallmouth on the fly. Hope to learn more about the area from reading all the threads. Grant Dade Chief Meteorologist KFVS 12.
Kelroy Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Welcome Grant! I tune in to KFVS every time I stay in cape. Have you ever fished at Bollinger mill? It's probably pretty low this time of year, I've pulled some decent smallies out below the dam. Beautiful spot and not much pressure.
rps Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Hello Grant. What little I know of streams and rivers is NE Oklahoma, SW Missouri, and NW Arkansas. However, I agree that the smallmouth is a great game fish.
Members wgdade Posted August 12, 2014 Author Members Posted August 12, 2014 I have been to the Mill but I have not fished it. I ended up going on the whitewater in Bollinger County and caught a few smallies on the fly. Nice trip. I'll probably be out somewhere this weekend.
jbooth24 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Try floating the James river in galena I go there least once a month and float from the cox acess to James river outfitters place and catch some decent size smallies out of there
