JohnF52 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Got three inches in the headwaters this afternoon. White River at Elkins is nearly bank full. Hope the fresh water helps the fishing in the upper lake.
J-Doc Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I didn't notice much difference yesterday in water clarity or debris on the upper end around 12 bridge or even Horseshoe Bend. In the past, it takes 1-2 days for the debris fields and muddy water to show up on the upper end of the lake. If they generate a lot at the dam, that really kicks up the speed and increases the amount of silt thus muddier water. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. nathanhooper Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Coming from a water treatment perspective, heat and sun really help clear "particles" from the water. Mainly just help them drop out quicker. Don't see much issue in summer flood events as fall, winter, spring ones.
JohnF52 Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 I hope it clears rapidly. Lake Sequoyah looked about as muddy as it gets yesterday. Maybe some of it settles out there.

JohnF52 Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 Sequoyah is open sunrise to sunset, although on slow days sometimes the office attendant will be in and out. Nominal fees, I think six dollars to boat and fish, four if you are a veteran.
