Hojo Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Anybody have any info to share on these 2 lake in regards to bass fishing?
Members lollygagger1 Posted August 12, 2014 Members Posted August 12, 2014 Fished Spav twice ...once during day,,,once at night....have a cuz that fishes Spav 5/6 times a year...his advice was was to get a long cast from the shoreline and then move a long cast further out....fish where your boat was earlier.....he has 2 that went over 9 lbs...both on a jig ...one during day and one 12:30 AM.....never been to Hudson
Quillback Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I have fished Spavinaw twice, once in the early summer - picked up 7 or 8 keeper sized bass that day on a whacky rigged Senko, and fished it once in the winter and got skunked. There's some deep water down by the dam with some steep banks, the other end of the lake is shallow. Coves that I fished were shallow and weedy.
Hojo Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 No, Lake Hudson around Salina OK. Thanks for the info on Spavinaw Quill and lollygagger
Guest Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Spavinaw, I had my best luck fishing a fluke around the grass near the boat ramp. Then, fishing a spro frog in the lily pad field upriver. Very nice lake for giant bass.
Members Sneezy Beltran Posted August 17, 2014 Members Posted August 17, 2014 Are there any pads in Spavinaw this year? I went over there a couple times last year and there were zero pads at all.......
Jim Elam Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Spavinaw... Upper end on low water years can be very productive. Lilly pads hold lots of fish during warm months. Black hollow and tag hollow hold big fish, but you will have to work for them. Has been a few years since I fished Spavinaw, but it holds some really large bass. Big bait, big fish type of lake IMO. Crayfish immitations always produced well. One year my father caught 49 bass over 5 lbs, including 3 over 9 lbs back in the 80's. That was fishing it March 1 to Nov most Saturdays and Sundays. That was the best year I have seen there. Never did much good on Hudson. Eucha is also an excellent lake in that area. Good luck.
