sfiser Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 has anyone ever put a boat in at the dam when they were generating and fished? Thinking of putting my jon boat in one afternoon when they are running some water and fly fishing. Anyone have any thoughts or input on that?
rps Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 If they are generating you will have an easy time to Parker. To make Houseman, you will need to paddle or use propulsion.
Amery Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Yea it's not bad. Cast to any current break. I've had some good days doing it in my yak.
Members ARHeadhunters Posted August 15, 2014 Members Posted August 15, 2014 I take my river boat up there all the time. I prefer to fish beaver with one unit of water over no generation. Table Rock has been dropping steadily so fishing has been getting much better with no generation lately though. Members Beaverdamstore Posted August 24, 2014 Members Posted August 24, 2014 I have been doing exactly that. I haven't tried the hoppers yet but doing well on different jerk baits with spinning tackle. Even landed 1-18" walleye last week in running water. The closest ramp to the dam is washed out. Your options are Bertrand or Houseman access. I prefer Houseman if they are generating because it is easier to load in the current at houseman. I think a big hopper pattern as close to the bank as possible will get you some pictures. If not then possibly a clouser minnow or large woolie bugger. Jim
hoglaw Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I was told the beaver tailwaters were no wake from Highway 62 all the way up to the dam, is that correct? I may have asked this question on here before but forgot the answer.
Members Beaverdamstore Posted August 26, 2014 Members Posted August 26, 2014 Actually, it is from Houseman Access to the dam.
