Fish24/7 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 We launched at Beaver Creek Marina around 8am idled across the lake and started fishing. Left all the heavy tackle at home and focused on light line, light rods, and small finesse baits. Had the best luck on 1/32 hair jigs tipped with honey worms, pearl swimming minnows on 3/32 chartreuse heads, slider worms on 1/16 heads, and rooster tails. We caught dozens of short bass, and some were keepers., but just barely, gills of all sizes, and one 14" walleye. Pretty steady action while following the channel. Quit about noon. It was a great day for numbers and was really fun on ultra light gear! Everything was released.
Wayne SW/MO Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Have you been up the creek to the slough? If so, how deep is the channel now? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Fish24/7 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 no, but we plan on going back sooner or later and might head up the creek then
