School went back in session this week and my condolences to all teachers. The heat turned on as well and with it the lack of fishermen on the lake. Again stripers top the list followed by the white bass.

Stripers; Early morning bite is best, from the people reporting in they are all saying be on the water by 4am and be off by 10am latest. Live brooder minnows are working best when you cannot get shad. People have been asking where to get Brooder minnows (aka striper minnows) the only two stores I know of are Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers and Dam Site store near the Dam. These are just grown up crappie / bass minnows. Use light fluorocarbon line 10 and 12lb with a light splits hot 3ft above the bait let out between 30 to 50ft of line and slowly troll or drift with the wind between .5 mph and 1mph, you will want your bait almost straight up and down to 15 degrees with the boat so adjust weight to accommodate that.

Best Area to try has shifted the last couple days. Look in the back of Big and Little Clifty, the hump just south of point 4 and areas around point 3 and the damsite camp ground, the heat has forced them closer to the dam. A couple good cold fronts or cold fronts with generation could spark a move back toward Rocky Branch and Prairie Creek so keep that in the back of your head.

White Bass; This bite has remained constant all year Horseshoe bend to Prairie Creek. Early and late are best with still some surface action on zara puppy and popr. Little deeper with spoons. The bite time seems to be 6am to 9am and 6pm to 8pm. Also check point 5 to point 6 same pattern and times.

Crappie; They are finally on the summer pattern over pole timber and docks with deep structure. Bobby Garlands and crappie minnows are top producers in depth from 20ft to 30ft

Walleye; some fish being taken early on harness and spinner rigs in 25 to 40fow, you will need to put a lot of trolling time and miles on the boat to get them.

Catfish; Jug, Limb and Trot liners are reporting good action all over the lake with live goldfish and perch.

Bass; Again little to no information on bass fishing, I was able to get out earlier this week and managed to get some decent ( up to 3lb ) smallies on an open water bite using jigging spoons and spybait over open water humps close to the channel. Some reports of black bass up river being taken on finesse worms and dd22’s.

Good Luck

I post it each week on the FB Page figured I would try to remember to put it here. the report is based off FISHERMEN and them actually telling me where, what and when. Quiet a few people now contributing which is making it a little easier to cover the lake. I certainly couldn't do it without the help and the people helping are ones I trust so the information helps others catch fish well at least have a chance without wasting time money and gas chasing to location no way are fish in or sending them away from the areas the fish are for selfish reasons.
