Went out tonight at 5pm - hot and humid for sure! Headed up the White and stopped around Beaver Town and pitched a football jig (PB&J) and got one short spot. Kept going for about 30 minutes and decided to take a run all the way up to the HWY 62 bridge. Water is flowing - Beaver Dam must be doing some serious generation. Tried my hand at some Rapala fishing for trout. Floated back down for about an hour, but could not connect.

Ran all the way back to HI and started fishing top water with a Yellow Magic pop-r (silver) at about 7:30 - Within 30 minutes I had about 9 fish! Unreal... it was like they just turned on. A mix of Spots and LM, the best going about 2 lbs. Decided to see if I could attract a bigger fish and tied on a War Eagle white buzzbait - it worked - landed about a 3.5 in a minutes.

Great way to end the week! See you on the water tomorrow... look for a Nitro Z7 around HI all the way up to Big M. Looking forward to cooler temps on Saturday.

Cheers!

Ken, I am no expert when it comes to that area of the White River, but I'd be careful taking a bass boat that far upstream. It's been my understanding for several years that Houseman Access is pretty much the upstream limit.

Others with more knowledge, like RPS, hopefully will weigh in.

Glad you caught some fish.

Champ is correct about the risk, especially once the river bends to the right when headed up stream from Houseman. When a strong flow is going on, that adds depth but it is still easy to find snags. In addition, there at least two points before you reach Houseman where, it is imperitive to know and stay in the channel.

I look forward to meeting you on the water. I drive a blue and silver Alumacraft with a 75hp Etec tiller.

Thanks for the heads up guys. Without generation and a slow/idle speed I was OK a few weeks back. This week, with the generation, it kind of freaked me out. I think I'll stick with the Rock!

Sure wouldn't want to see you tear your boat up ... or worse. Glad to have you on the forum.
