Mcdaniel Lake Insight

What's the story with McDaniel Lake? Has anyone here had any success with bass, or other species? I've not been to this lake, and from what I've read so far, it's extremely limited in fishing space, and parking. Everyone I've talked to about it has said to avoid it, but never said anything beyond that.

I know its a hot spot for crappie, but other species such as bass its a hit and miss.

I've done very well out there bass fishing, but the water needs to be low so you can walk the bank. It's a very sketchy area. I once found a handgun with no serial number. A safe, like you would see in the old west . Looked like it had been blown open , and a homeless camp. That's why people don't go out there. But there are some monster fish in it. You can only walk up river from the bridge. The dam area is off limits.

Thanks for the feedback. I'd prefer to worry about fish biting and weather conditions than homeless camps and rogue handguns hanging around.
