Members Bassattack1990 Posted September 10, 2014 Members Posted September 10, 2014 Is there any good ponds around Springfield to fish? Iv found most parks have ponds but no fishing signs around them.
Members TheBeardedTay Posted September 11, 2014 Members Posted September 11, 2014 The Valley Water Mill Pond is okay. It's not meant to be a trophy fish paradise, but allegedly there are fish there worth keeping. Most ponds are on private property in this area . You're better off fishing lakes, rivers, streams, or creeks around here. There are good spots everywhere you turn. That's really part of the fun for me, to explore new areas, drive down some backwoods roads and even the Ozark Mountains. You never know what you might catch! "Fishing is much more than fish. Members Bassattack1990 Posted September 11, 2014 Author Members Posted September 11, 2014 Thanks! Iv fished vally water milk caught some nice fish but far and few between. I stopped at an apartment complex yesterday on the south side of town and caught some nice size bass and missed one that was prolly close to 4lbs. Iv had better luck at the small ponds around here then the lakes so far.
Members TheBeardedTay Posted September 12, 2014 Members Posted September 12, 2014 I'm guessing Golden Pond? hahaha My buddy used to live there and would fish when he was bored at home during the days. Members jbooth Posted September 14, 2014 Members Posted September 14, 2014 Do they allow general public to fish at golden pond or just residents?
Members Bassattack1990 Posted September 14, 2014 Author Members Posted September 14, 2014 That's a great question. I always park behind the gas station. And I don't think there's any signs saying golden pond residents only
jbooth24 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 My brother lives there and it's supposed to for residents and there guest but I'm sure there won't say anything
Members TheBeardedTay Posted September 14, 2014 Members Posted September 14, 2014 There's a random little pond on Ingram Mill just off Battlefield near a subdivision, anyone ever tried it?
