jpb2187 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Hey guys - I just wanted to check in and see if anyone on here has fished Ft. Gibson lake to any extent. I will be making a trip there in the middle of October and I was wanting to see if I could pick someone's brain about techniques and typical patterns for the fall.
rps Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Sandy bottom lake with maybe 2 feet visibility. Grand River feeds it, but only after visiting Grand and Hudson. Old lake so not much natural cover, but locals have placed a bunch of brush piles. Lots of old private docks and boat houses from the 50's and 60's. On Gibson, 20 feet is very deep water to fish. Try dock edge patterns with senkos, swimbaits, and buzz baits. If you find some of the sunken brush piles try Jikka rig creature baits. If you think of it as a dingy flat part of Grand, you won't be far wrong. Hope that helps.
jpb2187 Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Anyone else have any advice? I was thinking about heading up toward the river portion opposed to the lake. Any thoughts?
